Skin Care Tools to Save you Money and Enhance Your Routine

Your skincare routine is an important part of making sure your skin has a healthy glow.  But it may not be that easy to find the right tools for the job.  You may be wondering what tools you need or even why you need them.  But let us assure you, you need them.

Going to the dermatologist or skincare professional for expensive facials and cosmetic treatments can break the budget.  Which is why we tracked down a list of skincare tools to save you money and enhance your routine. These are not all of the skincare tools out there but we wanted to put together a list of economically friendly choices.

Not only that, but we also wanted to give show you options that are actually worth the money and the hype.  We have things on this list that can fit into even the tightest budget and make your skin look amazing.  Before we dive into the list, we wanted to talk about why you need skincare tools and what they are.

Do I Need Skin Care Tools?

Saying that you need them in order for your skin to be at it’s best maybe a mild overstatement, but they would definitely help.  Skincare tools can be really simple items that help with mild cleansing and exfoliating or they can be high tech devices that you make an investment in to save money at the dermatologist.

You may not need them to have clear and beautiful skin but you will want the added benefits.  If trouble skin isn’t an issue for you then you can get by without tools to help but people with acne-prone skin or problems with clogged pores will benefit from using skincare tools at home.

What Are Skin Care Tools?

Skincare tools are not just one thing.  They aren’t simple to define but we are going to try to be as clear and concise as possible. Tools can range from very simple facial stones, rollers, and scrubbing pads all the way to light therapy masks, electronic exfoliators, and lights that suck dirt and oil from pores.

They also range in price depending on what you need and what your budget is. If you are new to skincare tools you may want to start small and work your way up to the more complicated items.  But that is completely up to you.

Best Skin Care Tools to Save Money

Knowing what exactly to spend your money on is not something we can tell you.  However, we do want to present you with options that we think are worth the money and actually do what they say they do.  You won’t want or need all of these products and it wouldn’t be wise to use them all.  You might actually cause damage to your skin if you did use them all.

Some of them can be used together to achieve the best results and some can be used on different parts of your skin.  Such as your back, neck, or arms.  Your face is what gets the most attention when it comes to skincare, but there is skin on all of your body that should be healthy.

Sephora Precision Pore Cleansing Pad

This is one of the most low tech skincare tools on our list but it is a good one.  This is extremely budget-friendly at only around $8. This pad is designed to help with your daily cleansing routine by massaging the cleanser deeper into your pores.

Your hands or washcloth might do an okay job when it comes to getting the cleanser in your pores but really there is a better way.  This cleansing pad is a great option especially if you are new to using skincare tools.

Me Clear Anti Blemish Device

This tool is a little bit more high tech but still pretty easy to use. Me clear is handheld and really takes care of those acne spots and blemishes.  It is equipped with a blue LED light that kills that bacteria that is hiding in your pores causing problems.  The device also has a vibrating feature that helps take care of the red spots caused by acne.

This is also a really affordable option.  We love skincare tools that don’t break the bank so something that is affordable and works is perfect in our book. This handy little tool is less than $40.

Boscia Konjac Cleansing Sponge with Bamboo Charcoal

This is a fun little tool that is also low tech and affordable.  This tool is made of a natural substance called konjac that is also a food.  Not that you would want to eat your cleansing sponge but we love natural items that are used for multiple things.  This is great for cleansing and Boscia also added charcoal to make it even better.

The best thing is that you don’t even need to use a cleanser if you don’t want to.  The sponge does everything you need to wash your face.  It can be used with a cleansing solution but that is up to you.

Like we said above this is an affordable tool that many people can afford.  You can buy it for less than $20.

Neutrogena Light Therapy Acne Mask

Let’s go back to high tech for this list item.  Neutrogena is an established name in the skincare world and most people have heard of this brand.  They make great products for multiple skin types and issues.  They are known for their gentle acne treatments.

But they aren’t just facewash and moisturizers.  They also have a light therapy acne mask.  This mask uses both red and blue LED so it can treat existing blemishes while zapping bacteria that threatens to start a new outbreak.

If you see this product you may think that it will be out of your price range but don’t worry.  You can buy this mask for less than $30 and get started zapping bacteria quickly.

Nurse Jamie Uplift Massaging Beauty Roller

Many celebrities swear by this next tool.  They say that it helps with lymphatic drainage and bloating in your face.  By doing this is actually sculpts your face and reduces redness that may be hanging around from a recent breakout or other damage.

Nurse Jaime products are well known and she has a full line of items that can help with many different skincare areas. However, they are a little bit more expensive than some of the products that we have already talked about.

With that being said, it is still affordable. This tool that should likely be in everyone’s makeup bag is $69.

Sephora Squeaky Clean Pore Cleansing Brush

Sephora has made our list again with another low tech offering that is also budget-friendly. This brush has dense but very soft bristles that need to be used in a circular motion with your cleanser of choice.

This brush loosens dirt and debris from your pores if used properly but at the same time, it is gentle enough for even the most sensitive skin. This is definitely worth the try to people new to skincare tools and even veterans.  This product is available in-store or online for $18.

Foreo Luna FoFo Skin Analysis Facial Cleansing Brush

This may look like just your normal cleansing brush on the outside but it is so much more than that.  This product is actually very high tech and can offer the user a personalized skincare approach.  How do you ask?  Well, that is an app that syncs with this device.

After following the instructions, you use the cleansing brush and let it read your skin.  There are questions that you will answer about your diet, sleep habits, and some other details about your daily life.

The brush/app will then give you a personalized approach to your skincare routine.  This is very trendy right now in the holistic community but really all people love things to be personalized.

But this device is not without cost and is more expensive than some other tools but is still less than $100.  This routine changing device is available for $89.

Clarisonic Aria Sonic Skin Cleansing System

The most expensive tool on our list so far is the Clarisonic aria sonic skin cleansing system.  People that use this tool swear by it and encourage others to use it.  If you are all about your skincare and routine then you may want to try this.

This is an oscillating brush that makes 200-300 movements per second to practically launch the dirt, oil, bacteria, and debris from your pores.  This doesn’t need any specific cleanser and does work well with all foaming cleansers.

The only thing about it is that it may be cost-prohibitive for some. This amazing device costs $199 to own but will save you money on dermatologist visits and skincare treatments.

DermaFlash 2.0 Luxe Facial Exfoliating Device

There has been an upswing in women shaving their faces in recent years.  This is due to the fact that shaving is a method of exfoliation.  Men that shave regularly tend to have softer skin with less dullness because they are daily or multiple times a week sloughing off that dead skin.

Well, now there is a product that does what shaving does for men.  This means that you don’t need to use single blade razors anymore to achieve the results you desire. It isn’t cheap but it does work by doing 10 times what a facial scrub would do.  Say goodbye to peach fuzz and dead skin while saying hello to smooth flawless skin and effortless foundation.

This device is $199 but will save time and dermatologist visits.

What Next?

Now for the fun part, choosing a tool to start with.  If you have never used skincare tools before and have just stuck with the run of the mill washcloth (we won’t tell), it is now time to move on.

If you are a veteran but are in the market to try something new, that is great too.  No one should try all of these tools, that would not be a good idea but take a moment and consider what results you hope to achieve. This will help guide you to a product.

You also want to determine your budget.  Once you know the results you want and your price range it will be much easier to narrow the field and choose the right skincare tool for you.
